AIRPORT HISTORY
In October 1944 the Eastland City Commission approved the purchase of 115 acres for a commercial airport contingent upon the Civil Aeronautics Administration designation. The Airport became operational in 1945 and was moved in 1974 to its present location. Elevation at the airport is 1,468 feet above sea level.
In 2009 the runway was extended to 5,001 feet to accommodate larger aircraft, many of which are housed on site.
In 2014 ground was broken on a new modern two story terminal named the Troy Taylor Terminal in honor of one of the areas well known pilots. The Troy Taylor Terminal officially opened in May 2015 and houses the Bradley Conference Room and an upper level Pilot’s Area complete with a flight planning area. A second floor balcony overlooks the runway and surrounding area.
